Outreach 






Eligibility. Organizations seeking financial support must meet the following criteria:
  • Operate in Dallas, Denton, Collin, Tarrant, or Rockwall counties.
  • Possess an IRS Letter of Determination confirming its status as a tax-exempt organization under IRS code 501(c)(3).

Communities to be Served. The members of the St. Thomas community have expressed an interest to support those agencies that provide services that address the needs of:

  • the homeless, hungry and impoverished;
  • those facing health / health-care challenges (both physical and mental);
  • individuals confronting spiritual / personal crises;
  • those suffering the wounds of social injustice; or
  • children, particularly those from low-income families.

Scope of Proposed Activities. Funds may be requested for any activity undertaken by the organization, with preference given to special programs that allow the organization to:

  • expand its reach in the community (i.e., increase capacity); and/or
  • improve its capacity to serve the community; and/or
  • enhance existing programs in ways that support its core mission.

Requests for financial support of ongoing operating expenditures will be considered, but will not be accorded highest priority.

Funding Parameters. Agencies may request funds in the range of $250 to $5,000. All grant-related expenditures must be clearly outlined in the proposal. Those organizations selected for support will be provided with funding in the form of one to six installments, payable over the period between June 15 and December 15, 2008, under terms to be set forth by the appropriate governing body of the St. Thomas community and agreed upon in writing by the grant recipient.

Deadlines. Complete grant requests, including the accompanying application form and all required attachments, must be received as hard copy documents in the Parish Office of the Episcopal Church of St. Thomas the Apostle no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Applicants will be notified of the status of their proposal by May 1, 2008.
